After midweek fixtures in the Premier League, Matchweek 13 saw an exciting flurry of goals in fixtures across the week including a major upset for Liverpool with a defeat against Nottingham Forest, Haaland continuing his goal-scoring form for City, Aston Villa with a win following Steven Gerrard’s departure.

Here is how all the action unfolded in the Premier League Matchweek 13:

Nottingham Forest 1-0 Liverpool:

Former Reds striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored the game's only goal in the 55th minute, giving the hosts a 1-0 victory at the City Ground. Jürgen Klopp's side had several chances during the day, but Forest took the points in the teams' first Premier League match since 1999.

Everton 3-0 Crystal Palace:

With a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park, Everton delivered an eye-catching team display of elegance and determination to get their season back on track.  Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his first goal since his historic victory against Palace in May after a promising start.  Frank Lampard's side needed to be strong in the early stages of the second half to hold the visitors at bay, before two magnificent strikes clinched victory.

Manchester City 3-1 Brighton:

At the Etihad Stadium, City defeated a spirited Brighton team 3-1, surpassing 600 goals under Pep Guardiola. Erling Haaland's 16th and 17th Premier League goals of the season, together with a blistering Kevin De Bruyne strike, secured City a much-needed three points after their setback at Liverpool.

Chelsea 1-1 Manchester United:

At Stamford Bridge, a Jorginho penalty appeared to have clinched the big match for Chelsea, only for Man United to steal an equalizer right at the death with Casemiro heading home his first goal for Man Utd.

Aston Villa 4-0 Brentford:

Aston Villa blasted away Brentford at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon, putting on a dazzling performance of attacking football to earn three Premier League points. Leon Bailey curled home the opener for the home side after only 65 seconds. Danny Ings scored twice in quick succession, including a penalty kick, and Ollie Watkins added a fourth just before the hour mark.

Leeds United 2-3 Fulham:

Fulham won their second game in a row on Sunday, defeating Leeds United 3-2 at Elland Road. Rodrigo put the hosts ahead, but goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, and Willian guaranteed Fulham's victory. Crysencio Summerville scored late for Leeds, but it didn't matter in the end.

Southampton 1-1 Arsenal:

Arsenal had to settle for a draw with Southampton as Granit Xhaka's first-half goal was canceled out in the second half. Saints improved significantly after the break, drawing level on 65 minutes with Stuart Armstrong's first goal of the season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-4 Leicester City:

Leicester City celebrated their first win of the 2022/23 Premier League season with a 4-0 victory over Wolves, thanks to a fantastic Youri Tielemans goal and contributions from Harvey Barnes, James Maddison, and Jamie Vardy, as well as a fourth clean sheet in five games.

Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Newcastle United:

Newcastle United moved up to fourth place in the Premier League with a 1-2 victory against Tottenham. Despite Harry Kane's header, first-half goals from Callum Wilson and Miguel Almirón proved pivotal for the North London club, who retain third but are now only two points clear of Eddie Howe's in-form United.
